RCMP are looking for a male suspect after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Oliver on the weekend.

Around 3:30 PM on Saturday a woman was walking along Church Street when a man came up behind her, grabbed her from behind and made sexual comments.

The woman attempted to take a photo of the man on her cell phone before scaring him away.

Police say they are looking for an East Indian male around his mid 20s to early 30s, 6 foot 1, medium build and short brown hair.

He was wearing a white t-shirt, red basketball shorts and flip flops.
