Penticton emergency crews were called to Skaha Lake yesterday afternoon to search for a missing girl who is believed to have drowned.

Witnesses says a girl believed to be 12 years old may have lost her footing at the edge of the sandbar and never resurfaced.

RCMP have yet to comment on the incident but witnesses says police, fire and ambulance crews searched for several hours but did not find the girl.
